In its first month of operation, 24 individual consultations were provided to citizens of third countries at the newly opened Zemgale branch of the Integration and Inclusion Agency. Citizens of Russia and Ukraine have been the most frequent visitors to the Jelgava office and the most common asked questions relate to getting/extending a residence permit in Latvia and employment-related issues. Zemgale region’s customers are served in person at the premises of the Public Center (Sabiedriskais centrs), Skolotāju Street 8, on Mondays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Remote consultations are offered via telephone or Whatsapp call +371 25915300, or through an e-mail to: [email protected].

In addition to the consultations, several cooperation meetings have been held this month with the state and non-state organizations of the region with the aim of raising the awareness of the agency’s work and identifying useful service providers for the target group in Jelgava and its surroundings.

The number of individual consultations per month in the central branch remains stable, which in September, similar to August, approached 300. Meanwhile in the Liepāja branch, 92 individual consultations were provided in September. Customers of the Kurzeme region are served at the premises of the Liepāja Town Hall, Rožu Street 6, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Thursdays and Fridays from 12:00 p.m. until 16:00. Services of the Integration and Inclusion Agency are provided by the Society Integration Foundation within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund’s project (Agreement No. PMIF/13.1./2022/1/01). The funding has been allocated by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (75%) and Latvian State budget (25%).
