Legal advice

The legal advice service of the Integration and Inclusion Agency is available to third-country nationals who have obtained the right to reside in the territory of Latvia and persons in need of international protection who are legally residing in the territory of Latvia. Consultations are available orally in Latvian, Russian and English and in writing in Latvian. If necessary, we can provide an interpreter.

The service can be booked through a visit to a Change Agent in Riga and in the regions by signing a service contract for cooperation with a Change Agent. The Change Agent prepares a written referral for legal advice with the client, outlining the situation and the issue to be addressed.

The Integration and Inclusion Agency provides oral and written legal advice on:

Term and temporary residence permits
Procedures for obtaining, extending and cancelling visas; documents required to apply for a visa; obtaining a visa with employment rights
Immigration rules
Preparation of all necessary documents for the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs
Family reunification issues, such as available benefits
Labour law, commercial law, employment, education system healthcare
Administrative law, including renting our clients’ homes and other housing or accommodation issues
Participation in mediation processes for out-of-court dispute resolution
