In the first month of operation 24 individual consultations have been provided to the citizens of third countries in the newly opened Liepaja branch of the One Stop Shop of the Society Integration Foundation. Citizens from Russia and Ukraine were the most frequent applicants for the consultations. The most pressing issues for the residents of Liepaja are applying for residence permits and receiving social assistance. Most of the clients are in the age of retirement and prefer to receive consultations in person at Rožu Street 6, Liepaja. Clients are consulted in the premises of the Liepaja City Hall on Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In addition to ongoing consultations, several cooperation meetings have been held this month with state and non governmental organizations of the region with the aim of introducing the concept of the One Stop Shop and identifying useful service providers for the target group in and around Liepaja.

Meanwhile in the Riga office, the number of individual consultations provided per month remains stable, which in April, similar to March, has approached 200. The demand for interpretation services has also remained at a similar level. The One Stop Shop’s services are provided by the Society Integration Foundation within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund’s project (Agreement No. PMIF/13.1./2022/1/01). The funding has been allocated by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (75%) and Latvian State budget (25%).
