Yesterday, on October 19, representatives of the Liepāja branch of the Integration and Inclusion Agency took part in the event called “How to improve cooperation between people from different countries in the field of higher education: to improve your intercultural competence” that was organized as part of the International Week at the University of Liepāja. The main goal was to promote the work we do and the support we offer to foreign students in the Kurzeme region.

Around 30 representatives of foreign universities from the USA, Japan, Malaysia, Ukraine, the Dominican Republic and other universities attended the event. After the presentation, the discussion continued about the integration policy in Latvia and its openness to foreign students who want to study in Latvia. Participants of the discussion were interested in the vision of the integration policy in Latvia, the process of acquiring a residence permit in Latvia, the availability of social assistance in Latvia and the services that the Agency plans to provide in the soon future (written translations, psychologist/psychotherapist support and legal support). The event was held in English.
