Who Is a Change Agent and How Can They Help You Integrate into Life in Latvia?

After arriving in a new country, even once the first steps are complete — getting your documents in order, finding housing, or starting a job — it can still feel like the real journey is just beginning. How do you find your place in society? Where can you learn the language? How can your children join school or kindergarten? How do you understand cultural norms and everyday routines? This is where a Change Agent comes in.

A Change Agent – Your Personal Support in Everyday Life

A Change Agent is someone who provides hands-on support to help newcomers understand life in Latvia and find their place in society. They are your guide and partner in the integration process.

Together with a Change Agent, you can:

  • Identify what matters most to you while living in Latvia and how to achieve it;

  • Set personal goals and create a step-by-step integration plan;

  • Receive practical help in daily situations, such as communicating with institutions, schools, healthcare providers, and more;

  • Get emotional support and motivation — something especially important during times of transition;

  • Better understand Latvian culture, values, and traditions, and participate in community activities.

A Personalized and Trust-Based Approach

The Change Agent’s support is based on trust, empathy, and respect for your individual experience. This is not just a formal service — it’s a human dialogue and joint work on your integration journey. You are the one who defines your goals, and the Change Agent helps you move toward them.

How to Apply?

Change Agent services are free of charge and available throughout Latvia. To apply, simply fill out the application form on the Live Latvia platform, and you’ll receive further instructions shortly.
