Train traffic

Latvia’s rail network connects the capital with other settlements in different directions. By train, you can get to Liepāja, Sigulda, Cēsis, Jelgava and Rēzekne, for example.

Tickets for the train journey can be purchased at the station ticket offices. If the station ticket office is closed or there is no ticket office at the station, you can buy tickets on the train from the conductor. Tickets can also be purchased on mobile apps such as Mobilly.

Tickets must be presented to the conductor as well as to ticket inspectors if they are carrying out an inspection. Tickets must be kept until the end of the journey.
