Can I receive state support, such as a benefit?
If you are in difficulty and want to find out what state support you can receive, you should contact the State Social Insurance Agency. It helps socially insured people in situations of risk – when income is lost, or expenses increase. The Agency examines clients’ questions, provides advice and takes decisions on granting benefits.
Specialists will advise you on the procedures and types of benefits. For example, unemployment, sickness, invalidity, childbirth and parental benefits, as well as pensions.
Information for Ukrainian civilians
Residents of Ukraine in Latvia can receive the following benefits:
- From January 1, 2025, one-off benefit in a crisis situation - 377 euros for an adult and 264 euros for a child
- From January 1, 2024 an additional monthly allowance of 137 euros for the first person and 96 euros for each subsequent person in a Ukrainian household
- other material support or social services according to the individual needs
