How Can an Individual Consultation Help Newcomers in Latvia?

Starting a new life in a foreign country can be challenging — whether you’ve come to Latvia to work, study, join family, or seek asylum. A new country means a new language, new systems, and many unanswered questions. To make this process easier, the Society Integration Foundation offers individual consultations to help you navigate and plan your next steps.
What Can You Expect from an Individual Consultation?
An individual consultation gives you the opportunity to receive answers, guidance, and practical solutions tailored to your specific situation. During the consultation, you can:
Discuss your questions and needs — whether they are related to employment, education, documents, housing, or everyday life;
Get information about state and municipal services and how to access them;
Learn how to apply for Latvian language courses or other integration opportunities;
Receive help with filling out forms and preparing documents;
Get an overview of your next steps for settling into life in Latvia.
Consultations in a Language You Understand
Consultations are available in Latvian, English, and Russian, and interpreters can be provided if needed. We want everyone to feel heard and understood.
Where and How Do Consultations Take Place?
You can receive a consultation:
In person in Riga, or in other locations where our partner organizations are present;
Online (remotely), if an in-person meeting is not possible.
Signing up is simple — just fill out the application form on the Live Latvia platform, and a consultant will contact you to arrange the time and format.
Why Is It Important?
Your situation is unique. We recognize that and provide support based on a personalized approach. An individual consultation is a safe space where you can find clarity, organize information, and begin the integration process step by step.
Services of the Integration and Inclusion Agency are provided by the Society Integration Foundation within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund’s project (Agreement No. PMIF/13.1./2022/1/01). The funding has been allocated by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (75%) and Latvian State budget (25%).
